2. SYNS Symposium: Vascular

With the support of the SGN and our sponsors, the SYNS is proud to announce its second annual course for young Swiss neurosurgeons in training. The goal of this yearly meeting is to cover the major neurosurgical topics while enhancing exchanges between residents. Brain tumors, vascular disease and trauma/functional neurosurgery will be addressed in a 3 year cycle. On this second course fundamental aspects of vascular neurosurgery will be discussed.

With great pleasure we invite all members of SYNS to the third spine course.

The course is designed as a hands-on cadaver workshop including both lectures and discussion rounds. The main topics will be therapeutical options for cervical discherniation, laminectomy and laminoplasty.

The course will be accompanied by
Dr. med Ralph Binggeli (Inselspital Bern)
PD Dr. med. Francois Porchet (Schulthess Klinik Zürich)
Prof. Dr. med. Paul Heini (Klinik Sonnenhof, Bern)
and Dr. med. John Duff (Lausanne).

Subcription fee is CHF 200 and includes all workshop materials, meals and accomodation.

2009
With great pleasure we invite all members of SYNS to the second spine course. After the success of the cervical course in 2008 this years course will cover topics of the lumbar spine. The course is designed as a hands on work shop including both lectures and discussion rounds.The main topics will include therapeutical options for disc degeneration, disc herniation and spinal tumors. The course will be accompanied by

All SYNS members are eligible to participate. The suscription fee is 100 Sfr and includes all use of workshop materials, lunch on friday and saturday, dinner on friday as well as accomodation nearby. The course will take place at Medtronic Headquarters in Tolochenaz close to Lausanne.

2008
Last year for the first time a SYNS full day course took place on the first day of the SGN meeting in Montreux (23. - 25. 04. 2008). The course was designed as a hands on workshop and did cover topics of the cervical spinal cord.   The 4th SYNS meeting did take place on the 25th of April during the Jubiläumstagung of the SGN in Montreux (23. - 25. 04. 2008)
