Background, Aims and Objectives

SYNS is a common platform for learning, teaching and exchanging of ideas to further promote and develop neurosurgery and neurosurgical training in Switzerland.  

These goals are to be attained through a common forum including the following:  

1. Annual meeting

• presenting lectures on topics of interest
• news in techniques and instrumentation

  2. Courses

• organising courses (theoretical/practical) for trainees depending on the present need/interest
• promoting inter-kantonal and international courses
• preparation for FMH exams
• providing updates on EANS and other international courses/meetings

  3. Research

• updates on research projects
• promoting the need for collaboration within the neurosurgical group in Switzerland and internationally (sponsorship, grants etc.)
